Grab something blue and throw it on in support of World Autism Awareness Day.  Let’s show our support for these kids and their families who cope daily with a often misunderstood condition.

Autism is looked upon by many as a Mental Illness, and for years, autistic children were misdiagnosed as retarded. I found the following video that explains Autism in an informative and easy to understand manner.

Meet Jason!

Now you know why so many families with autistic children consider them a gift.  For more information on how you can “Light It Up Blue” and help support these kids, click on the link below.  Today’s one of those days it great to be Blue!

Thanks for making me and others aware of this. Aspergers Syndrome also is a form of autism and many very smart boys and girls have elements of it.

By the way, the post I just wrote on the “Deaths of Honeybees and the Precautionary Principle” has some bearing here. There is data which indicates the increase in autism may be due to environmental toxins from various chemicals. Dr. Sandra Steingraber, whom I quote in the post, is very keen on the environmental impact on children.

    Thanks, BTG
