“If Your Ship Doesn’t Come In,

Swim Out To It”

Jonathan Winters

1925 – 2013

Goodnight, sweet man.  You’ll be missed by the generations you inspired.  You’ll be remembered by those of us you entertained for so many years.

I’ll miss your giggle, your smile and your wonderful talent for making us laugh!

I truly cannot find the words to express what he meant to me, my grandfather and my grandmother(both passed) as a little kid I would be in stitches watching him and I remember the hearty laughs of my grand parents. Memories are such wonderful things they bring our loved ones home when we least expect it. He will be missed but he has left a large legacy of memories for us all. He always seemed like you could walk right up to him and be accepted, he just seemed like such a nice guy.

  2. He was truly an awesome person! Thanks for the post!

  3. He had the best giggle!

When I was growing up, during the 70s, he was on tv a lot, and I truly thought he was genius… it’s sad that he’s not been around much the past decade or so…..

  5. I have nominated you for the Reality Blog Award. Maybe more people will find your blog and the insight you share. Thank you for your posts!! You can check it out at http://justcanadian.wordpress.com/2013/04/14/90/

    • I’m so delighted that you nominated me for this award. I’m at Camp NaNoWriMo right now and I can’t wait to tell my cabin mates. Will take care to pass on this award on my return.

      Again, thanks so much!

Thanks for sharing. Winters inspired many of the improvisational stars of today. He was the first I can remember who did what he did so well.
